In between thousands of apps, youtube videos, books, and quizlet, Ive never learned so much in such a short amount of time. Ive never spent money on any app in my life, yet I made an exception for this one. The quality of this language learning app is exceptionally rare, and has taught me more than any type of language tool has EVER done. If you want to download an app, (even if you dont plan on subscribing) the first 20 lessons are still really helpful. I recommend this app to anyone and everyone who is trying to learn the language. It is definitely the best.

This app will help you form sentences in Japanese and makes learning fun. Youll get much more out of it if you learn katakana and hiragana first though its almost perfect except it doesnt show you the stroke order for the kanji or include them in the quizzes either, which is very important. If it had given more attention to this Id give it a perfect score though. Combine this with a good dictionary to show the stroke order for the kanji and you have a winner though.

Its a great app for learning Japanese. However, it stopped updating since last September. Six months have passed and there is no new chapters. No explanations neither. This is not a right way to do business.

Pros: - There is a focus on getting sentence structure right instead of memorizing canned phrases. - Pacing is excellent and you can comfortably do (and redo, for mastering) a lesson on a subway ride. - Audio explanations can play even from the lock screen. Again, great for the commute. Cons: - Not much help with written Japanese. But conversational is what counts anyways. - Subscription model is expensive. If youre serious about learning and spending a several months going through all 160 lessons (currently), youre looking at maybe $50+. Not bad for language acquisition but its steep for a conversation-only application. - Audio speed is bugged. Adjusting the speed will not only adjust the Japanese audio, but also the English explanations. So if you have a good ear and want to hear the Japanese words at full speed, you end up with your narrator sounding like an auctioneer.

I went in with zero knowledge of Japanese, and this app has been an immense help. Great for both spoken and written!

Amazing! Im heading to Japan with a relative as soon as I learn Japanese for our benefit! Its my dream, after all, and this app is making that dream come true. Its just like a class too! Just more fun. Im learning fast and you will too without any doubt!

Simply the best language instruction program/class I have ever done! Logical, challenging enough to keep it interesting, but not overwhelming. Im amazed at how much Ive learned in six months.

One of the few apps utilizing learning theory to enhance absorption. Repeats previous learned vocabularies or grammar in the next lessons to reinforce learning. Recaps short lessons with quiz n big chapter with major review. provides both kana or Romanji as well as both male and female audio to aid learning. Others are ok to try. this is worth to buy

Easy & friendly users

It stops updating at lesson 160. Its been stuck since September 2014. The subscription says that you can expect a new chapter every month but mirai hasnt be able to commit. They should at least tell us why there is a delay. What that said. It costs 2.99 a month for subscription and with that much you have access to all 160 lessons. The app requires you to pass all the quizzes before it lets you progess. But other than that, below are my thoughts on the app Ive never had the "language gene" so for all of my life I only spoke English. I tried to learn Chinese and Spanish from school, but languages just kept disappearing from my memory. I was sure that Id never learn a second language until on a whim I tried Mirai Japanese. Wow. Within minutes I had learned a handful if words. Mind you, I am the type of person that can hear a word and repeat it 100 times and still forget it. I applaud the Mirai Japanese method for being able to actually teach me something and remember it... I just wish they would continue....

Best app I have found sonfarbto teach Japanese offers all kinds of entertaining ways to learn, as well as being informative I highly recommend.

The app itself is easy to use and navigate. The lessons are very useful and actually work for me. They did a great job in teaching Japanese with repetition and making it into a relatable context. One thing I disliked was that at the time I bought the app it included all lesson and later they added new content but I have to purchase them now.
